Olin Chlor Alkali Products and Vinyls has an opening for a Rubber Liner Technician located in Charleston, Tennessee. The Rubber Liner Technician is responsible for the proper application of rubber lining and protective coatings in accordance with lining and coating manufacturer's specifications and procedures. Individuals in this role are expected to perform all duties and work with other associates.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
Follow all plant operating and safety policies and procedures to make on-the-job decisions to permit safe and efficient operations of the area and the overall plant, according to specified and delegated authority.
Remove and dispose of old lining material in accordance with environmental considerations.
Prepare substrate for lining or coating applications in accordance with ASTM profile specifications.
Responsible for quality control of adhesive applications and proper drying times.
Apply lining or coating according to procedures outlined by manufacturer.
Assure quality of lining or coating by use of film gauge, spark tester, holiday detector, and other accepted test criteria.
Assure proper vulcanization of materials by Durometer or approved system.
Vulcanize or cure lining/coating by manufacturer's recommended methods
Operate autoclave and maintain control of instrumentation.
Organize, plan and execute field crew lining or coating job.
Be responsible for vessel entry, hot work, or other permit for assigned crew job.
Establish and maintain communications with customer's representative at job sites away from shop.
Assist in overall area responsibilities for best coordination of area and plant operation.
Maintain effective communication and coordination with area supervisors and other operator technicians.
Perform minor maintenance to maintain good and continuous 24-hour operation.
Assist in keeping a shift log book of significant conditions, information, or results.
Cooperate with maintenance and development projects to attain maximum efficiency in operations and minimize outages of equipment.
Promote and practice operational excellence, good safety and housekeeping.
Make suggestions according to the proper procedure for improvements in operation and safety.
Keep an accurate record of time worked.
Complete required training on a timely basis.
Perform other duties and directed by the area supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Meet medical requirements for Confined Space work, 18" or smaller is required.
Must comply with all aspects of the plant's Mercury Hygiene Program.
Must be able to pass fit test for full and half face respirators and be medically qualified to use supplied breathing air.
Must be able to comprehend and disseminate written information and make numerical calculations sufficiently well to perform assigned general and specific duties and responsibilities.
Must meet the physical requirements including, but not limited to, standing, bending or stooping for extended periods of time, working in outdoor environment year round, handling tools and equipment, climbing stairs and ladders; climbing onto tracks and into rail cars.
Computer skills (SAP, timesheet, email, etc.), communication skills, and good work ethics.
Maintain a valid driver license.
Must be willing and able to travel when required to offsite job assignments.
Must be able to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
Preferred Qualifications:
Please note, to be considered for the Rubber Liner Technician above the AREA level, you must have the following requirements:
Three (3) years of experience in rubber application in railcars, or similar applicable experience OR
(1) Demonstrated proficiency in all Rubber Technician tasks, (2) Successful completion of the Rubber Services general knowledge test (rubber lining process, rubber compounds, etc.)
LEAD requirements above AND
Five (5) years of experience in rubber application in railcars, or similar applicable experience
Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
