Technical Manager - Process Development Group Lead (Polysilicon)

This position is a dual-role responsible for leading the Charleston Polysilicon Process Development groups. The CHA Polysilicon Development lead is responsible to ensure overall department compliance with local, regional, divisional, and corporate procedures, policies, and regulations, including EHS regulatory compliance. Polysilicon Development provides process support and development for the polysilicon operations. The group initiates, conducts, and tracks process improvements in producing hyperpure polycrystalline silicon. It provides support for the production and technical areas in the event of problems, customer complaints, customer requests, etc. This position will seek to continuously improve Charleston's competitive performance with respect to quality, productivity, and costs. The Process Development (leads) will report to this role. This role reports directly to the Charleston VP Polysilicon/Site Manager, and functionally to the VP- Development for the Polysilicon Division to ensure global alignment with the Development groups in Burghausen and N nchritz. Your Tasks  Overall leadership and guidance of department according to company guidelines within Silanes, Poly, and Crushing areas. Plan, steer, and coordinate workflows. Drive the implementation and execution of the CHA specific product strategy and process technology strategy goals. Participate in the development and implementation of the development technology strategy and Polysilicon business plan.  Daily general management oversight and performance responsibility for a Process Development area (Silanes, Poly, or Crushing) to ensure process development standards and processes are met to site and global standards.  Support special quality, cost, and optimization projects as needed - Procurement cost savings initiatives - Engineering materials sourcing - Process optimization projects - Operations support - Quality improvements - Incident troubleshooting - New product development & optimization  Ensure department and group EHS compliance including ZAP and WSP participation, incident investigations and follow up, and PSM compliance. Participate in monthly EHSS Steering Committee meeting.  Ensure IMS and ISO compliance for the Development department and group including participation in audits as requested. Update documents as required in accordance with quality manuals and documented procedures.  Ensure global alignment with the Corporate Development Sr. Managers and Cluster Managers. Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, and Application Technology.  Promote a culture of continuous improvement for the department and group. Ensure proper transfer of best practices through alignment between all BD-P sites. Continuously improve manufacturing processes at CHA site regarding quality, cost, and EHSS performance. Your Profile  B.S. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Physics. Masters or higher preferred.  7+ years process support and development experience in a chemical plant.  Strong leadership, teamwork, organization, and group facilitation skills  B.S. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Physics. Masters or higher preferred.  Pronounced ability to think analytically and work systematically  Strong verbal and written communication skills  Good interpersonal skills  Capable of professionally dealing with changing priorities and scope requirements. Ability to work under pressure.  Objective judgement and fact based decision making approach.  Statistical analysis and data processing skills.  Background or experience in polysilicon chemistry and polysilicon technology, strongly preferred  R&D experience in Si chemistry and/or processing, strongly preferred  Continuous improvement methodology training such as Lean Six Sigma, strongly preferred  R&D experience in Si chemistry and/or processing, strongly preferred  #LI-RH1
