Legal Counsel

Your Tasks  Provide legal support to HR in areas relating to employment law, workers compensation, labor disputes and arbitrations, employee benefits, and other HR-related issues, including advising on compliance with applicable employment laws.  Provide advice and counsel on a range of disputes, including third-party product liability claims, customer and vendor disputes, construction disputes, employment claims, and other issues, and assist with internal investigations.  Assist in, prepare and present legal compliance and educational programs and work with compliance, internal audit, and other functional areas as needed.  Provide legal support and analysis on regulatory and environmental matters.  Analyze and communicate the impact of new laws and regulations on the business, and assess compliance and legal risks to advise the company regarding corporate risk management.  Cost-effectively partner with and manage outside counsel as necessary.  Assist in developing and overseeing the implementation of legal and corporate policies and procedures with members of the leadership team.  Support the Legal Department attorneys in advising on other legal issues as they may arise. Your Profile  J.D. degree from a top-rated accredited US law school.  Minimum 5 years of legal experience, in-house experience preferred.  Significant experience in labor and employment matters required; regulatory, litigation/discovery and privacy experience preferred  Detail-oriented and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and/or issues.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.  Ability to counsel and interact with executives and business segment managers with confidence, and to analyze and translate legal principles into practical business solutions, as well as establish a rapport and working relationship with business managers to encourage and continue proactive use of in-house legal counsel.  Energetic, proactive, and decisive, with the ability to learn quickly, work independently, and influence others while maintaining highest level of integrity.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Ability to travel as needed.  The candidate must be a team player who preserves the collegial atmosphere that currently exists within the Legal Department. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
