Olin Chlor Alkali Products & Vinyls, a division of Olin Corporation, has an opening for a Quality Lab Supervisor, located in Charleston, Tennessee. This position supervises, initiates, plans and develops processes, projects and activities related to quality including planning and implementation of the organization's quality management program(s).

Essential Job Functions
Oversees and assists with the daily routine and non-routine analytical testing of chemical products and reagents, including raw materials, in process, and final product stages using a combination of wet chemistry and instrumental analytical techniques
Responsible for overall laboratory safety. Coordinates and oversees housekeeping inspections, safety meetings, incident reports and investigations, job observations, PPE inspections, Chemical Hygiene Plan adherence, and Chlorine Institute guideline implementation.
Manages and motivates staff; reviews and assesses performance, develops and builds employee skills, supports their professional development and enables employees to optimize their contribution to the department
Coordinates with manufacturing and other internal departments to define and resolve product quality problems
Oversees inter-facility analytical testing program and ensures on-schedule analysis of samples from other plant sites and terminals
Plans, leads and coordinates quality related projects
Ensures working practices conform to regulatory requirements
Leads quality programs to ensure production of products are consistent with all customer requirements and specifications while maintaining the health, safety, security and distribution systems
Assumes lead auditor role in plant or site audits
Ensures overall quality control of processes, raw materials and products in line with regulatory, industry and company standards
Interprets data using statistical evaluations and makes or recommends adjustments based on findings
Prepares reports in accordance with the company policies and submits by required deadlines
Independently makes decisions on problems and methodology issues and secures necessary resources
Participates in reviewing and interviewing potential candidates and coordinates with Human Resources and interview team to select the best internal or external candidate for the job
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Science-related discipline required. Master's Degree preferred
Minimum 2 years related laboratory or quality assurance experience required. Prior manufacturing, process or chemical plant experience preferred
Good written and verbal communication skills; creative problem solving skills
Ability to interface with all levels of employees
Ability to interpret data and make or recommend adjustments based on findings including utilization of statistical methods
Knowledge of basic laboratory instrumentation
Knowledge and experience with ISO Certification and Documentation requirements
Ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance on laboratory equipment
Knowledge of environmental and DOT regulations
Experience with assigning and directing work, problem solving, appraisal and performance feedback processes and conflict resolution
Experience managing the use of highly-automated analytical instrumentation, such as: ICP, ICP-MS, GC, IC and AutoTitrators preferred
Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Office Products required; SAP preferred
Quality data management systems or laboratory information management systems preferred
MiniTab or similar statistical software preferred
Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
