At our site in Charleston, we are currently looking for a Project Procurement Manager to join our growing team. Job Responsibilities The Project Procurement Manager has entrepreneurial role which not only calls for a combination of innovative force, continuous driving of changes, a solid understanding of commercial matters, market knowledge and excellent communication skills, but also outstanding vertical and lateral leadership skills. The Project Procurement Manager closely collaborates with the procurement team, engineering, and operations to develop and implement project and category procurement strategies. The manager holds project procurement responsibility in a region for any significant Capex projects. This includes supporting Engineering in the creation of a project specific engineering strategy, creating a project specific procurement strategy (coordination with Project Engineering), coordination of all project specific procurement packages via pursuing continuously the project procurement plan as well as managing the interface with the global procurement organization. The manager will be responsible for market analyses, evaluating the current strategic situation and preparing alternatives for action, supplier management for individual suppliers (define targets, develop measures, track implementation); coordinating and asserting procurement requirements with the requisitioner (especially TCO optimization of functional specifications), also at management level, handling of RFQs for Engineering Services, independent tactical analysis, generate competition, coordinating supplier communication with the requisitioner, and project specific contract changes. Collaborate with the category managers or procurement managers and the requisitioners in all phases of the project (feasibility, basic engineering), for category management and supplier management. Understand the market, develop strategies, savings targets and projects to enhance the position, big RFPs, set guidelines for operational procurement. Supplier management:
Supplier relationship management, supplier quality management (targets, complaints, supplier assessment, improvement programs), sustainability management In this context, the role of the Project Procurement Manager in particular includes:
Building and maintaining a cooperative relationship with requisitioners:
Coordinate strategies Resolve conflicts Assert requirements of Procurement Building and maintaining a cooperative relationship with the key suppliers' management:
Create a strategic understanding Help with the framing in negotiations Conflict escalation/resolution Other responsibilities as assigned by Procurement Director to support business requirements. Optimizing processes/systems for continuous efficiency improvement (i) within Strategic Procurement, (ii) within Operational Procurement and (iii) on the requisitioners' side. The Project Procurement Manger has the role of the business owner who defines processes and identifies weak points. Procurement compliance:
Implementation of (i) 6 ground rules, (ii) guideline and instructions, (iii) use of special tools (in particular for auctions), (iv) compliance with all procurement business processes, (v) data quality Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Economics is required, Master's degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in a related role. Successful performance working in Procurement for a large global/multinational company, preferably within the Chemical and Manufacturing industries. PMP preferred. Up to 40% travel. Understanding of specific plant engineering and execution models. Good understanding of procurement practices, contracting, negotiation, MS Office applications. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
