The Project Engineer - CSA provides corporate project engineering and project management services related to projects at all WACKER sites within the NCA region throughout all project phases from front-end-loading engineering through detail engineering, construction, commissioning and turn-over to operations in accordance with federal, state and local regulations as well as Wacker's internal policies and procedures. The position requires working in a multi-discipline team with multiple interfaces to internal customers, internal services such as procurement and regulatory affairs, as well as external suppliers and contractors. This position requires domestic and international travel over an extended period of time dependent on project assignment. Job Responsibilities Project Management Duties This position requires leading design, assemble estimates and oversee both contracting and execution of construction. Participate in WCC Project Engineering Team Development Support Engineering colleagues from other disciplines (MEC, EIC) Become proficient in SAP (Wacker accounting and contract software) incl. Project Approval Process Lead meetings via a Wacker structure and produce minutes in the Wacker designated format Estimating knowledge and schedule knowledge for all aspects of CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) Understand and be able to learn both state and local regulatory requirements Participate and assure Environmental requirements are met Cooperate with groups and individuals within the Operations, Plant Engineering and Maintenance departments, as well as other busines units to achieve solutions with focus on optimal results/solutions from a corporate/enterprise perspective Project Specific Duties Development of project scope and execution approach, which may also include building HVAC, fire-protection /alarm Be able to build project Schedule (e.g. Microsoft or P6) Participate with procurement to assure legal and contract scope is clearly outlined in all subcontracts/purchase orders. Coordinate contractors and suppliers involved in the project Monitor project progress and compile project reports Provide monthly report of project overview Create, maintain and turnover all closeout documents Initiate cost savings ideas via value engineering practices Engineering Duties Lead and participate in legal, economic, safety and environmental related matters as it relates to each project Identify and define the project scope for engineering service of all Civil / Structural / Architectural aspects of a project. Oversee the CSA Engineering deliverables for each stage of engineering (Feasibility, Pre-Basic, Basic and Detail) and ensure they are completed sufficient for permitting and construction. Engage and oversee all Permitting activities for CSA with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) Assure Engineering / design services include project specifications, code compliances, and Wacker design criteria/standards. Compile and provide to the internal client, complete project budget and schedule Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required Minimum 5 years experience required Professional experience in CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) engineering and construction management is required Thorough understanding of engineering principles, relevant codes, and construction practices to effectively manage projects and to apply efficient and innovative solutions to technical and organizational challenges Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction procedures, construction technologies, safe work practices, construction/installation quality and dependencies of various trades and disciplines working on a project in order to efficiently coordinate contractors to achieve project goals and maintain a safe job site. Able to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressure Capable of professionally dealing with changing priorities and scope requirements Strong knowledge of construction and project management principals
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Civil EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
