Responsibilities:
Managerial Duties:
Technical and disciplinary leadership of the raw materials, gas chromatography, in process trace metals and chemical ultra-trace, laboratories at Charleston, TN Technical and administrative management of the employees at the Poly Analytics Charleston laboratory. Oversight of the training and qualification of laboratory chemist and technicians according to company guidelines Optimizes and controls workflows at Poly Analytics Charleston site Oversight of equipment used for processing emissions from chemical analysis Serve as the deputy to the Sr. Analytics Manager during their absence from the plant Specialized Duties:
Supervises the laboratory, including its measuring instruments, clean-room technology and scrubbers. Ensure that the HVAC, safety, water purification systems for the building are at site and industry standards. Work with engineering and maintenance groups to provide preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on analytical equipment and building systems Assures that the laboratory meets ISO quality and environmental standards by providing proper documentation on procedures, sample plans, validation reports and calibrations etc. Identifying and actively resolving quality drops or customer claims in the field of responsibility by using statistical analysis of laboratory data using programs such as MiniTab and Tableau Support of production units, process-support groups and engineering with respect of analytical methods and characterization methods for auxiliaries. Identify new or make improvements to analytical capabilities at the CHA site Work in close cooperation with other Senior Chemists worldwide at WACKER Polysilicon to ensure that technology strategies are aligned at the Charleston site Serve as the Charleston subject matter expert for cleanroom laundry services Job Requirements:
Master's Degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry; Ph.D. in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry preferred 9-13 years of work experience in the chemical industry preferred 3
years of supervisory experience of qualified staff preferred Experience in supervision of an ultra-trace cleanroom laboratory preferred In-depth knowledge of the chemistry and technology associated with the production of Polysilicon and Silicone In-depth knowledge of instrumental analytics and chemical processes. Knowledge of manufacturing operations Knowledge of the requirements for operating a cleanroom Knowledge of HVAC operation for cleanroom environments. In-depth knowledge of industry specific standards and testing equipment Understanding of deionized and ultra pure water purification systems or process. IT knowledge, especially databases and standard software, statistical analysis of data. Experience with SAP and SQL Queries programming Good communication skills for effective contributions in meetings, presentations, and reports Experienced in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) A team player, working with various functions and levels of the organization, being an organization talent with self-assertion, being able to motivate and striving for continuous improvement Ideal candidate should be independent, responsible, well-organized, and a self-starter
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
